A review of the intergator Search Days 2016 These were the intergator Search days 2016 – an event review After the Search Days is before the Search Days: The event which has been held for the 6th time this year is history now. We look back at eventful days full of information, input and new ideas and are ready to say the we are looking forward to continuing our intergator Search Day tradition in 2017. The rise of dark data In his opening speech interface projects’ CEO, Dr. Uwe Crenze, laid the foundations for the following presentations: Due to the ever increasing amount of information and “digital garbage” there is a high need to find means and tools for making relevant data findable and accessible. Thesaurus and dictionary methods and are no longer sufficient. There is strong demand for new technologies to access, manage and retrieve relevant information. Data is the new oil This was the tenor of the presentations held by clients and partners such as Reifenhäuser, Viessmann or the insurer Sparkassen-Versicherung Sachsen. Knowledge and knowledge management has even become so important that it was included in the revised norm ISO 9001:2015. The magic of machine learning Day 2 was the day of the intergator developers. During workshops among other things new features of the Social Dashboard 5.3 were introduced. Everyone was stunned by the presentation of the semantics team on new functionalities and approaches to machine learning by demonstrating a few samples. The perfect finish The boat ride on the river Elbe did not only strike our foreign guests as something special but was met with much appreciation by the locals and German visitors likewise. During the 1,5 hrs boat ride from Dresden to Pillnitz and back everyone enjoyed not only the beautiful scenery and nice dinner but the great opportunities for networking and exchanging ideas. From the feedback we can tell everyone has enjoyed the mix of theoretical knowledge and practical approaches presented during the intergator Search Days.
